Biography

Peggy Ashland Taylor received her B.M.E. with Emphasis in Piano, from the University of Kansas.  

She is a member of MTAC’s Lakewood-Cerritos Branch and has served as Branch President, CM Chair, Treasurer, Bach Festival Chair and Program Chair.

During the past four years, Ms. Taylor has been privileged to serve on MTAC's  Certificate of Merit Council and to work with this dedicated and amazing group of teachers. She currently serves as:  Evaluator Chair South, Training & Recruiting; CM Chair Liaison and Computer Support Representative.  Duties include training Judges, Branch CM Chairs and Teachers for the current CM Evaluations.

Ms. Taylor also serves on the Executive Board of the Southern California Junior Bach Festival.

She is a Certificate of Merit, SYMF and Bach Festival adjudicator and judges a variety of other festivals in the Southern California area.

  As a teacher, Ms. Taylor has performed in several teacher master classes with such internationally known teachers as:  Dr. Mark Sullivan, Menahem Pressler, John Perry, Daniel Pollack, Malcolm Hamilton, Eduardo Delgado, Bernadine Blaha, M’lou Dietzer, T.J. Lymenstall, and Jim McCormick.  She continues weekly studies for teacher enrichment. 

In addition to other festivals, Ms. Taylor annually prepares between 30 – 40 students for CM Evaluations.  Her students regularly perform in CM Branch Honors Recitals and the Annual MTAC Convention Recitals.  Several of her students have performed in the Convention Intermediate Master Classes with nationally known clinicians/composers.  

Ms. Taylor enjoys performing duet and duo piano music with collegues.
